I've always been fascinated by the symbolic meaning

of flowers (as well as numbers and colours). Here's a little list of some of our favourites

Cornflower -“Bachelor’s button,” has earned its name due to its association with the spinsters, who would wear Cornflower as a sign of their unmarried status.  inflammatory, healing, loyalty

Astilbe - Patience, perseverance, determination, sensitivity,

Sedum – tranquillity (peace) – rest by water.

Bouvardia – excitement

Eryngium (blue thistle) – independence

Lisianthus - calmness

Verbena – tender, emotional

Veronica (blue spike) – faith, loyalty

  • One denotes absolute singleness.

  • Two symbolizes witness, support, unity or division

  • Three signifies completion or perfection, and unity.

  • Four relates to the earth.

  • Five is associated with grace.

  • Six is the number of man.

  • Seven is divine perfection, or completeness.

  • Eight symbolizes new beginnings.

  • Red: love, passion, sacrifice (blood)

  • Blue: Stands for heaven, revelation, truth and loyalty.

  • White: Symbolizes purity and innocence

  • Green: Represents life and growth.

  • Purple: Denotes royalty and glory. Also mourning

  • Orange: Creativity, wisdom and fire

  • Yellow: Hope, light, joy and jealousy
